What does it take to build a successful career? Over a decade ago, I had the privilege of interviewing Harry Dickinson for my Book, The Heart Of Success. Harry has spent more than 30 years leading technology companies, including leadership roles with DeWalt, National Semiconductor/TI, Red Hat/IBM, Artisan/ARM, Bigfoot Networks/Qualcomm, and as CEO of Entridia, FST, and FSA Technologies.
One lesson from Harry has stayed with me ever since: "Success starts with listening." Harry believes great leaders: Listen to their customers. Listen to their teams. Listen to the market. He also shared timeless advice that still resonates today:
